Hoist Lift

A hoist is a device used for lifting or lowering a load by means of a drum or lift-wheel around which rope or chain wraps

Hoists are used anywhere lifting and moving a load is required, not restricted to industrial applications. Hoists have a wide range of applications including lifting cargo, construction materials, engines, and warehouse stock.

The three-phase induction motor with electromagnetic brake is commonly used for electric hoist

Industries where hoists are used include but are not limited to:

  • Automotive
  • Construction
  • Marine
  • Manufacturing
  • Medical
  • Mining

Operating time, frequency of usage, and load all factor are considered while selecting the life of the hoist. These factors as well as travel distance and speed will also affect the lifetime of the Hoist Lift.

Important Criteria

  • Lift capacity - Very cost effective method used in industry.
  • Line material - Wire ropes are normally used to lift the materials for smooth lifting.
  • Power source - Hoists need minimum power consumption as itis assisted by gear mechanism.
  • Lift height - is decided by wire rope drum length and no. of falls of rope.
  • Lift speed - The lifting speed of hoist lift is maximum 5m per minute.
